Paulette Bogan was raised on the Jersey Shore, where she had herfirst “artistic experiences”. During
a family outbreak of chicken pox, Lucille Bogan, Paulette’s mother, encouraged
Paulette and her brothers and sisters to paint a mural on the playroom wall! For Paulette,
this was the start of something big. She became a humorous artist, enchanting grammar school and high
school teachers with her “flattering portraits” of them. This led to a great amount of free
time, better known as detention, where Paulette continued to develop her humorous
style. (Go to Meet Paulette Bogan to learn more!)
